Tghkut-dzor fortress, with an area of 0.5 hectares, is located at an altitude 4 km east of the Astghi Blur fortress, not far from the Tala, a tributary of the Aghstev river. It is protected by mountains from the south and east, no additional buildings were required. The fortress is rectangular with two rows of walls, protected from the east. The southern part of the eastern inner wall divides the fortress into two parts. The first and second rows of the 3 m wide wall have been preserved. The Tghkut-dzor and Kotakar fortresses were wartime sentry posts to protect the Astghi Blur fortress from the side of the Tala river.
