The Berdategh fortress is located 8 km north-west of the village of Yenokavan, on a high hill. It has inaccessible slopes on three sides and accessible passages only from the southeast. The fortress covers an area of 1.5 hectares, is protected by a common fortification made of large stones, and two more fortifications have been built in the areas accessible to the enemy. The walls are additionally reinforced with buttress. Three sloping entrances have been preserved. As a result of excavations, several dwellings and a temple were discovered here. The materials found - arrows, knives, spears and many ceramic objects make it possible to date the fortress to the VII—VI centuries BC.
