The fortress is located 25 km west of the village of Yenokavan, at an altitude of 1600-1700 m above sea level, on the left bank of the Tala, a tributary of the Agstev river. Okon fortress is a semicircular structure, with walls 3 meters thick. The area is 1.25 hectares. A second defensive line was built from the south and west, 20 meters from the line of the outer walls. The corner of the southwestern wall is fixed by a 5 m high tower. The absence of the second row of the wall on the north-western side of the fortress is explained only by the fact that they did not have time to fully complete the construction. The southeastern entrance of the fortress has been preserved, on both sides of which there are walls 10-12 m long, having laid a corridor up to 10 m long to secure the entrance.
