It is located near the village of Yenokavan, 2 km west of the Astghi Blur fortress, on the top of a high mountain. The northern and western slopes of the fortress are inaccessible, artificial fortifications were built only in the eastern and southern parts of the fortress, where 3 m thick fortress walls were laid. The fortress occupied an area of more than 2 hectares, which is now covered with forest. Being located directly next to the Astghi blur fortress, the absence of residential buildings suggest that the Kotakar fortress was a sentry post, at the same time it served as a safe place to hide livestock from enemy attacks.
