The castle is located 3 km north-west of Tmbadir fortress, on a rocky hill.
The locals call the castle St. John. In the northern corner of the castle there is a chapel, after which the castle is named. It is possible that the entrance was in that part of the castle as well. This small fortress had a defensive significance.
