It is located near Yenoqavan village, 2 km west of Astghi Blur fortress, on the top of a high mountain. The castle occupied more than 2 hectares, which is now covered with forest. Located directly near the famous Astghi Hill fortress, the lack of residential buildings suggests that Kotakar Fortress was a guard post, at the same time it served as a safe place to hide pets from enemy attacks.
