No bibliographic records have been preserved about these famous settlements and architectural monuments. The only witnesses to their historical life are the inscriptions. A number of monuments have been preserved in the fenced area of ​​the Apostles Monastery-fortress, in its vicinity. Arakelots Monastery is located 3 km west of Acharkut village, on the slope of forested mountains, on the left bank of Kirants river, in the center of Arakelots village. It is one of the remarkable monastic complexes of medieval Armenia, which is now in a dilapidated condition. The complex consists of two churches, a vestibule, a bell tower, and residential and ancillary buildings. The whole complex is surrounded by high, steep, thick walls.
