Different dialects of Tavush Region
Apart from its nature, culture, habits and traditions Tavush Region is colored with various and interesting dialects. Each town and village in Tavush has its own dialect which sweetens the speech. Sometimes dialects are understandable between two towns but in some cases there are words which are only usual for the local people.
Dialect of Ijevan– As a center of the region Ijevan has a range of words which are used in daily speech. Here are some examples:

Dialect of Getahovit– Getagovit, also known as Tala, is not far from Ijevan, which means that the words aren’t completely unknown for some people. But generally each dialect has a flavor which gives the sign that we recognize who is native and who isn’t. Below will be words usual for village Getahovit:
