Arman Badeyan and Margarita Malkhasyan, a husband-and-wife duo of artists, founded Buduart in 2008 as a studio where visitors may explore their creativity in a comfortable atmosphere with friends. Arman teaches a three-hour-long painting class in the studio. Enjoy tea and coffee while you work, with wine also available for purchase to further stimulate your creative side.
Graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts in Dilijan, both Arman and Margarita derive inspiration from Hovhannes Sharambeyan, an artist and folklorist who has worked in Dilijan more than 30 years and who helped both to establish the Museum of Folk Arts and to reconstruct some of Dilijan’s historic thoroughfares. The paintings of Arman and Margarita reflect the beauty of Dilijan’s forested landscape and swaying pines.
Under Arman’s instruction, you can paint a landscape scene and take home your creation as a souvenir. The class lasts approximately three hours. Arman and Margarita also offer a batik-painting class and a jewelry-making workshop at their studio.
