“Gardener’s cabin” is one of the special places of wine tourism in Tavush region, where the doors of a small winery and a wine tasting hall open before the visitor.

“Gardener’s Cabin” presents wine lovers with varieties of wine made from famous French grape varieties, and also contributes to the development of viticulture and winemaking in the region, introducing the art of high-quality winemaking. French grape varieties grown in the Aygehovit community of Tavush serve as raw materials for the creation of “Aigepani tnaki” wines. Still in 2017 6 famous French grape varieties were presented for the first time in Aygehovit community: Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah. The cabin was created in 2020 at the initiative of AgroTrend company, with the aim of giving a new breath to the development of agrotourism and wine tourism in Tavush. The investment projects implemented in Aygehovit, Achajur and Ditavan communities of Tavush marz serve that purpose.

The secret of “Gardener’s hut”.

It all started in the 1950s, when local grape growers and winemakers began to gather in an area of Achajur village to discuss the secrets of viticulture and winemaking. Not only local, but also vintners from other areas of the USSR came here to get advice on viticulture. The area also served as a lookout point to watch over the 60+ hectares of vineyards surrounding the vineyard.

In order to give new life to the legend of this meeting place and stories, in 2010 it was decided to rebuild the small cabin, which was half-ruined after the collapse of the USSR, carefully preserving the old appearance and meaning.

The pleasure of being a winemaker for a few hours.

The Gardener’s Shed is open to everyone. And if you want to feel at least a little the subtleties of winemaking, then here you will be given the opportunity to do so. Everyone in the cabin can personally participate in the grape picking, crush the harvested grapes, enjoy the grape juice, participate in the wine making process, and then, when necessary, in the bottling of the aged wine, and if desired, take with them an exclusive souvenir – the nominal wine.

The cabin is an opportunity not only to organize the production of one’s own, but also that of other winemakers. That is why both Achajur residents and residents of neighboring villages can bring their grapes here, get quality wine and bottle it.

“Gardener’s cabin” with the symbolic name “Made in Tavush” presents the offers of local producers: clay pots and wooden ornaments, teas and dry goods.
